Dr Gos Jilani

A Master Storyteller

The novel is contemporary fiction depicting a clash of cultures, when a young Indian doctor comes to work for the National Health Service in the UK, with a love story at the very heart of it.

Dr Gos Jilani writing style is both thought-provoking and insightful. His debut novel, 'The Doctor from Bombay' has been praised by readers and critics alike and chosen for Book of the month by Sunday Times bestselling author and book reviewer Lady Dawn Annandale in an international magazine.
About The Author
His novel 'The Doctor from Bombay' cleverly combines his experiences and expertise as a doctor within the National Health Service, and his successful private cosmetic clinic on the Isle of Wight in United Kingdom.

The latter demands high levels of creativity and an interest in people and their motives, as does his second career as singer and DJ. Gos has performed as an artist at major music events throughout the UK, including Glastonbury and the Isle of Wight Festivals. His cultural heritage allows a subtle yet colourful blending of both Indian and Western cultures.

In addition to writing, Dr Jilani has worked as a physician in the UK for over 20 years. His medical background has provided him with unique perspectives and experiences that he incorporates into his writing.
The Doctor from Bombay
A great fictional read, with a few of Dr Jilani’s experiences in the NHS thrown in there. There's drama, romance, heartbreak, passion, lust, friendship, loyalty, betrayal, and life changing decisions to be made. We follow Saj through the ups and downs of life with loss, grief, and love.

A brilliant and interesting story which is a must read. All characters in the novel are fictional. When Saj arrives in England from Mumbai (Bombay), he is full of hopes and dreams. But the cultural differences mean he struggles to adapt to western life.

His experiences of long working hours in the National Health Service and racial abuse by few of his colleagues shock him. He is pleasantly surprised by the freedom in the western society, compared to India which leads to Saj exploring his sexuality from his first-time experiences through to his more passionate and confident encounters with women.

When he falls in love with Lea, an English nurse, he finds himself in the middle of two worlds. Saj must decide where his heart belongs; with his family back in Bombay, or in England, with the woman he loves.
"The Doctor from Bombay" has received Five Star and chosen for Book of the month by Sunday Times bestselling author and book reviewer Lady Dawn Annandale in an international magazine.
